Intensive Cohorts
Paired with a team of NORDP Consultants, partnering institutions complete a 3-phase process to build and implement strategic and sustainable plans that grow institutional capacity for research. To accelerate growth, partnering institutions receive $150,000 to invest in research infrastructure, monthly sessions with peers experienced in growing research capacity at an MSI, and dedicated networking activities with funders, and other research development professionals.
The full range of consultant activities will be decided with each participating institution, emphasizing the delivery of services to meet the needs and potential of each institution.

Primary Activities
600 consulting hours over two years to define and implement strategic and sustainable plans to grow research development capacity and infrastructure. Networking activities with cohort peers, funders, and other research development professionals. Broader Impacts 101 workshop delivered by Advancing Research Impact in Society.

Eligibility
Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI)* – An IHE established with the explicit mission to serve a historically excluded student population (i.e. mission based MSI) or an IHE that enrolls a significant percentage of underrepresented minority students as defined by the U.S. Department of Education. (i.e. enrollment based MSI). *Excludes MSIs with an R1 Carnegie classification.

The next cohort RFA will be released in early 2025.
Other Features
Up to $150,000 for research infrastructure investment. Monthly peer mentoring support for the MSI/ERI leader who is championing change and coordinating the research development expansion.
