Carol Thornber, PhD

Biography

Carol has extensive experience in higher education leadership, including research development, strategic planning, and programmatic review. She has been a faculty member at the University of Rhode Island since 2004 while also first serving as the PI of Rhode Island's NSF EPSCoR program, then as Associate Dean of Research for the College of the Environment and Life Sciences, and most recently as Director of University Research Operations for the Division of Research and Economic Development. Throughout, she has strived to improve the research grant experience for faculty, staff, and students at her institution and at emerging research institutions and minority serving institutions in Rhode Island.
