Biography

Most recently Peggy worked with a team of grant funded NORDP Consultants, partnering with an HBCU to improve its Research Development (RD) and administrative operations. From 2014 – 2022, Peggy was the Director of Sponsored Research at Trinity University (a CLA, HSI, and PUI) responsible for both RD and research administration. She worked closely with faculty, especially early career, and academic leaders to secure funding for research and institutional programs, and to increase the university’s national visibility. Before joining Trinity, Peggy launched the first RD office (2009) in the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), at the University of Minnesota (an R-1, Research Intensive, Public University). Before assuming RD responsibilities, she held other leadership positions in compliance and change management in the OVPR (1996 – 2014).

Peggy is a Founding Director and Charter Fellow of NORDP and has served on numerous committees. Through NORDP, she is a PEERD consultant and works with HBCUs, MSIs, and emerging research universities.

Peggy began her academic career as Assistant Dean at Texas Christian University and as an MBA instructor at the University of Texas at Arlington, among others. She has over 10 years of federal contracting experience and served as a consultant and adviser on federal grants and contracts. Currently Peggy and her husband own Org.Transitions, LLC, which provides direct and consultative services in the non-profit sector.
