Jill Jividen, PhD

Biography

Jill is the Senior Director of the Office of Research Development (ORD) at the University of Michigan. Jill has worked in RD since 2014 and joined the U-M Office of the Vice President for Research in 2019 to establish the first central ORD. The ORD team provides proposal management and editing services, ideation and strategic planning facilitation, graphic design, online resources, and workshops and webinars for improving the quality of grant proposals, helping research teams work together effectively, and building research capacity. In addition, ORD team members administer internal funding programs and limited submission processes, and manage the Bold Challenges initiative, a program to increase the pipeline of teams that are positioned to pursue large-scale proposals, which is a keystone in the U-M President’s Amplify Research strategy.

Jill has served on the NORDP Board of Directors (2018-23) and as the 2021-22 NORDP President. She was recognized in 2023 with the Holly Falk-Krzesinksi Service Award, the highest honor NORDP bestows on members for outstanding service to the organization, profession, and peers. Jill joined the NORDP Consultants Program in 2023.
