Biography

At the Arizona State University (ASU), Faye co-designs large and strategic initiatives at the university that emerge from ASU's executive leadership for the University Design Institute.

Prior to this position, she founded and led two offices dedicated to advancing research excellence in academia. Under her leadership, Research Development became a boutique consultancy available for free to all university staff and faculty at ASU. The office has been noted as a model for Research Development nationally. As executive director, she managed a team of 10 individuals, across four functional units and designed and led multiple transformative programs. In 2014 she initiated a Proposal Development Workshop series that provide accessible and timely information to hundreds of investigators annually.

Under her direction, ASU's Research Development office annually submitted proposals worth between $500M and $800M total obligated funding to several US federal agencies, including the National Science Foundation, United States Agency for International Development, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, and the National Institutes of Health.

She is certified in proposal management practices and loves reading proposals. Faye also directs three leadership programs for university faculty and staff and is a former National Organization for Research Development Professionals board member (2019 - 2023). She is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Lesotho, 1999 - 1997) and has a BS and MS in Plant Biology/Plant Science and is expected to graduate with her PhD in Business in 2024.
