FUEL Director of Use-Inspired Research & Development

Dr. Ashwith Chilvery is the Director of Use-Inspired Research & Development at Future Use of Energy in Louisiana (FUEL), a regional innovation engine here in Louisiana supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Louisiana Innovation (LA.IO). Dr. Chilvery engages with 50+ regional partners to promote use-inspired research and manages IP-yielding research projects in energy transition and low-carbon technology areas across the state. Over the past 15 years, Dr. Chilvery has served in various higher-ed roles, including as a faculty member, senior research leader, and tech-transfer specialist. He has overseen and led projects, research consortia, and initiatives to drive cutting-edge and industry-focused research across higher education campuses. In addition, Dr. Chilvery has served on panels for national academies to advance research towards innovation and translate it to economic development.
